These powerful but catchy lyrics sung hauntingly by Jeazell Grutas of the band Zelle and made more impact with Gloc9’s rapping continues to move Filipinos as “Upuan” peaks at #1 on radio stations 102.7 Star FM (now on its fifth week) and WRR 101.9. It also reach the charts of 91.5 Energy FM as well as music channel MYX. The single is also a heavy favorite on radio stations 90.7 LOVE RADIO and 101.1 YES FM.
“Upuan” is included in Gloc9’s second major label album “Matrikula” under Sony Music. This track is one of the songs that he wrote during a hospital duty as a nursing student. It talks about issues and realities experienced by most Filipinos.
“I used simple words for the hook of this song but it delivers a very strong message,” Gloc9 said.
The song can be felt more with its music video by young director J Pacena which evolved around a chair that symbolizes power.
