It started for a segment of Sunday musical variety show SOP but like their powerful voices, blending styles and big songs they perform every week, La Diva proved to be a force to be reckoned with in this fickle industry.

Viewers tuned to their TV sets every week to see what song they would perform next. La Diva created a wide following that people clamored for more. They were so much buzzed about that Boxing champ Manny Pacquiao personally chose them to sing the Philippine National Anthem on his fight with Miguel Cotto. La Diva ended up as another national pride with their proper and beautiful rendition of the song.

They sure have the pipes which can be credited to their common denominator—GMA’s singing tilt Pinoy Pop Superstar. Both Jonalyn Viray and Maricris Garcia emerged as champions of the first and third seasons respectively while Aicelle Santos was the second season’s runner-up. Though all achievers and great solo singers in their own right, these girls set it all aside to blend well together and create beautiful music. With Jonalyn in command of the high notes, Aicelle in the mid-range and Maricris on the base, it’s wonderful melodies altogether.

La Diva spent their weekend with fans who came at SM Sta Rosa (March 13) and SM Marikina (March 14) to see them perform songs from their self-titled album ‘La Diva’. The girls will have their last mall show for March at SM Clark on the 28th before heading to Vancouver, Canada for a concert entitled “One Journey Concert” on April 5, see detail here.
